Latest version and safety

The current release is Money Manager Ex v1.9.2, published on 20 January 2026. It is the same build the project distributes on its own site and on GitHub, so the files behind the buttons above are the genuine, signed installers — we do not re-host or repackage them. Each release ships with published checksums, which you can use to confirm a download matches the official file byte for byte before you run it. Older releases and development builds are also available from the project if you need them, but for almost everyone the latest stable v1.9.2 is the right choice. Once installed, MMEX keeps your data in a single local file that you can encrypt with AES-256, so nothing about your finances is sent to a server.

How to install Money Manager Ex

  1. Click the button for your platform above — the file downloads from the official v1.9.2 release.
  2. On Windows, run mmex-1.9.2-win64.exe; on macOS open the .dmg and drag MMEX to Applications; on Linux install the .deb or the Flatpak.
  3. Open Money Manager Ex and create a new database file — this single file holds all your data and can be AES-256 encrypted.
  4. Add your accounts and start entering transactions. Your data stays on your device; nothing is uploaded.

Windows may show a SmartScreen prompt for a newly released installer — this is normal for open-source software. Choose More info › Run anyway, or verify the file against the checksums on the official release page.

Download FAQ

Is the Money Manager Ex download really free?
Yes. MMEX is free and open-source under the GNU GPL v2 — there is no paid tier, no trial limit and no ads. Donations to the project are optional.
Which file do I need for Windows 10 or 11?
Most people want the 64-bit installer. Use the 32-bit build only on older 32-bit Windows, or the portable ZIP if you want to run it from a USB stick without installing.
